What to do when rear tailgate wont open?
I end up having to go to the back and shutting the tailgate to reset it and then pressing the button on the tailgate, or the key fob, and it will then raise all the way. I’ve also had instances where I press the key fob when I’m coming to the car and the tailgate beeps three times and then barely pops open.

A few weeks ago the tailgate stopped responding to my kick / hands free access. I know it can be hard to open, and it did take me a while to get it right, but it had been working very well for a few months and then all of the sudden it stopped. Is it possible I disabled this somehow?

Since it resets, something is causing the lift to lose its setting in the first place. my only suggestion there is to check with your service manager. Of course, it won’t act up while it’s in the shop…. 2019 Outback; tailgate only opens 3/4 open. Have to manually push the rest of the way.
