Door is shut, but the “Left Rear Door Ajar” message displays on instrument panel, and the interior lights won’t turn off because the computer thinks the door is ajar. Tried shutting door multiple times with no change. Any suggestions short of bashing out all the interior lights?

One is at the leading edge of the bottom of the panel. The other is just forward of the door pull. The door inner trim panel has several very sturdy molded hanger hooks on its backside. These fit into openings in the door inner metal and when the trim piece is pushed downward, grip onto the door metal.
