I had the same problem with my 2017 Sierra Denali power running board on the passenger side opening and going to the rear tire on its own. I was able to reset it by removing the fuse under the hood and that fixed it. Have the same problem, passenger side running board randomly and frequently extends to the rear of the truck.

Why does the passenger side window not work?

The red / light blue is a different story. That is the 12-volt feed only for when the passenger switch is pressed. It is not used when the driver’s switch is pressed. This is why I suspect you have two problems, since the window doesn’t work from either switch.

Why does the running board not come out?

Mostly running board will not come out and when you close the door, you can hear the motor run to pull back in as if it were out. Let me know if you get a fix, mine is out of manufacture warranty, I have extended warranty but don’t know if it is covered. I have the same problem with both sides intermittently.

The passenger side also does not retract and is in the down position. It does not move AT ALL, despite really trying to move it up. The motor also does not sound at all when a door opens (and the dash settings are for auto) For you who have solved your running board problems, where do I start looking?
