How does the moonroof work on a Honda Accord?
The AUTO OPEN/CLOSE worked, but after the moonroof stopped closing the rear of the roof would either be tilted slight up (about 1/4″) or too low (about 1/8″). It was getting worse over time where it would close, then tilt up about 1/2″ whereby the rubber seal would expose a gap large enough for water to enter into the cabin.

Hondas aren’t immune to problems but they are one of the most reliable cars on the road. People flock to these boards to complain and problems get grossly overblown in forums like this. The only problem that I’ve heard of that you mention is premature wearing of the rear brake pads and they have a fix for this now.

Are there any recalls on the Honda Accord?
Actually, affected model years include 2008, 2009, 2010. Honda did not even recall it voluntarily. They did it because of the class action. Honda is very slow at taking action to address consumer complaints. This is just one of the example. I had planned to buy another Honda, but after reading on this board it will be a Ford Fusion.

So in reading through a number of posts on this board I get the sense that the 2008 Accord EXL V6 Auto is prone to be problematic, already we have experienced a number of minor issues (rattles, paint, tires, something underneath bending, and brakes)…

Where is the MES plug on a Honda Accord?
It is under the driver’s side dashboard near the fuse panel. The harness is yellow and has two wires coming out of it. Disconnect the MES plug from its socket. Strip each end of the speaker wires. Then, insert one end of each wire into each plug opening. If you don’t have wires, you can use paperclips instead.

The SRS unit is mounted on the floorboard near the firewall, which is behind the stock radio. To access the unit, remove the center console and two side panels. There is one screw and one clip on the driver’s side. There are two clips on the passenger’s side.
