Before installing the new actuator it’s a good idea to manually turn the blend door in both directions to ensure it is not stuck which will cause the new actuator to fail.

Why is my Chevy 1500 heater still hot?
Took off old actuator and it did not any power so i filped the door around and the heat worked, so I tryed to find a actuator at parts house but never got the right one, i am still looking for the right one . Actuator only moves about half way, heats get less but still hot.

Why is my Chevy 1500 heater not working?
When blower motor is on 2 highest settings,air can be heard roaring in the vent system but the proper amount of air volume coming from vents is not as when newer.Took door actuator off and seems to be working fine off of unit. If you look under the dash from the driver’s side you will see the Mode actuator. Turn on the ignition, set the fan to low speed, and rotate the mode knob through its range. There is a visible slot in the shaft of the actuator. You should see it rotate about 90 degrees as the knob is turned.
