The reason for the code is you have a low backup battery in the ECM and it is bad. So when you remove the cables from your batteries, it will not save the perimeters of your truck in the RAM. It will reset the info as if you are putting in a fresh ECM every time you remove the batteries.
How to get rid of fault code PID 168?
I guess that is the wrong word. It gets rid of the user info such as if you travel from point a to point b and you did 70 mph and made 6.8 mpg, stepped on the brakes 20 times and hard braked once, that is the info it drops off. The parameters are in the ROM and won’t be removed.
