What does service trailer brake system alert mean?
I keep having Service trailer Brake system alert on 2017 Sierra 2017. I have replaced the module under spare tire and 30 I keep having Service trailer Brake system alert on 2017… I have at 2015 GMC 3500. when connected to different trailers I get a message that says check trailer wiring with dinging.
When to have your service trailer brakes serviced?
SERVICE TRAILER BRAKE SYSTEM: This message will display when there is a problem with the ITBC system. If this message continues over multiple ignition cycles, there is a problem with the ITBC system. Have the vehicle serviced.
Are there problems with the built in trailer brake system?
Plenty of problems with the built in trailer brake system, see your dealer. Best is going to the dealer and have the codes read. See what may be happening. My 2016 has had a bunch of problems with the service trailer brake. Not sure it has been resolved, but it has been better after the dealer replaced the trailer plug.
