Where is the climate control PCB located on a GMC CK?
It is separately powered on Pin 1 from the dash light dimmer, and has no function in climate control, other than illumination. The climate control PCB is powered when the ignition switch is in the RUN position via Circuit #141. +12V comes in on Pin 5 in the upper left corner of the schematic.

Ignition off, pull the HVAC/ECAS fuse for 10 seconds, reinstall and start vehicle without touching any controls, wait 40 seconds for the control module to self calibrate. If the Blower is off, the Recirc door defaults to the fresh air position. The Recirc door actuator is closed when a ground is applied at Pin 4 of the Climate Control PCB. When Pin 4 is open the actuator opens the door allowing fresh air to flow into the cabin.

How to turn climate control back on after dead battery?
Reconnect battery, start truck (with climate control still off) run truck for 2-3 minutes. Shut truck 2nd time, start truck again, then turn climate control on and it should work, if an actuator is not bad. My Buick used to do this occassionly and that put it back to work everytime.

Instead, we just grab a test light and look at the voltages on each fuse. All of the smaller spade-type fuses have two tiny holes on top for test points. Turn on the ignition switch and turn on any systems you can that are related to the problem, then check for those two voltages on each fuse.

Why does climate control only work on high speed?
There aren’t separate relays to mode control and the modes are switched by the climate control in the dashboard. If the fan is working only on high speed, it is probably a shorted blower motor resistor. The resistor is responsible for changing the voltage to the blower motor.
