Why would battery and check engine light come on?
A dying, fading car battery means low voltage. As a result, your car’s computer, which is responsible for reporting error codes, is also receiving low voltage. An error code will be generated which will in turn trigger the Check Engine Light or even the Battery Charge Warning Light to display.
Can a weak battery cause check engine light to come on?
A weak battery could also be the culprit, but for a different reason than you may think. When a battery is faulty or undercharged, it won’t be able to send the right amount of energy to your vehicle’s computer. This may cause the check engine light to flip on.

Then, hold your car’s horn down for 30 seconds to drain any electricity that’s left in the capacitor. Finally, wait 15 minutes before reconnecting your battery. If the check engine light comes back on after you reconnect the battery, there may be an underlying issue that needs to be addressed.
When does the low battery warning light come on?

Why does my check engine light keep flashing?
If your check engine light and battery warning light display simultaneously across your instrument cluster, the issue could be an insufficient level of voltage in your battery, a bad ground connection or simply a loose cable. Check all the connections between the battery and the bike, and then test the battery with a voltmeter.
