What should the transmission temp be in a Duramax?

What should the transmission temp be in a Duramax?

If you own a 2001-2004.5 LB7 Duramax your normal operating temperatures will run around 160-180 degrees. These transmissions will warm up when towing or driving in the summer months. 200-225 is very common when the ambient air temp is 80-100 degrees and your transmission is under an increased load.

What should the temperature be on a Duramax LB7?

I’ve got a new to me LB7 and I think that the temperature is a little low. On all of my other vehicles (mostly GM), operating temp is 210, however I cant get the Duramax above 170 (according to the gauge it is 180). I took the reading via my OBDII reader, it is 170-172F.

How long does it take for a Chevy Duramax to warm up?

Mine now takes about 5 miles at highway speeds to come up to full temp. It still won’t warm up a whole lot just idling, but it is much better with the new thermostats and will now put out heat. I got my thermostats at the local parts store in a kit that had both thermostats and the rubber gaskets. Merchant also has them.

When do I change the temp on my trailer?

Mine runs the same. The only time the temp gets up is either when pulling a trailer or in the summer with a/c on it will hit 210 Mine was running around that temp so I replaced the thermostats. The low one is 180 I think. It does run right at 180 now without the winter front and 186 with the winter front (temps read with Edge Insight).

What should the running temp of a service truck be?

I have a 2003 2500HD Service truck on a 3500 chassis. 7800 lbs with tools. and it always read lower than 190 or under. New radiator, water pump and it reads 210 consistent running temp now. Something about it having a leak or pressure loss that causes it to read lower than it is?
