Are there any problems with the MaxxForce engine?
All the owners I have had contact with like the engine. Those who jump in with the ” Maxxforce has problems” comments forget to state which engine, the series 13 and larger are the engines with the emission control problems not the 7 or 10. I have over 36000 trouble free miles on mine.
Why is my international MaxxForce DT engine dead?
This engine sounds like it’s running on one cylinder but in reality one cylinder is dead with way too much fuel entering the cylinder. There were no engine codes and the fuel pressure / injection control pressure were normal.
Is the MaxxForce engine used in International trucks?
I believe the Maxxforce engine is the same one used in the International Trucks. International Trucks are made and sold most everyday all over the country. I have two friends that both have Monaco’s Made by Navistar with Maxxforce engines and each have said they find no issues with the engines.
Is the MaxxForce 11 or 13 engine cluttered?
If you have ever seen a maxxforce 11 or 13 you know how much stuff is around the engine. This engine is by-far, the most cluttered, complicated engine I have ever seen or worked on. The way all the hoses/ intercoolers, wireharness are routed most components are interlocked with multiple other parts that make any work very labour intensive.

How old is a Navistar MaxxForce 7 diesel?
An International bucket truck that works for our utility recently had a Maxxforce 7 replaced under warranty. Not exactly sure what the specific problems were, but they found pieces of the camshaft in the engine. Truck was only 3 years old with no more than 60K. Kind of makes you wonder about these new diesels…
