How many amps does a TBC fuse draw?
After keeping the car off and doors closed for about 10 min, there is a draw of about 1.7 amps. I pulled all the fuses and relays and didn’t get much drop except when I pulled the TBC fuse. It dropped to about 25 milliamperes. I understand the TBC fuse is for the BCM, I guess mine is going bad.

When the fuses blew in the amp, it had likely been driven hard and the fuses were hot. This meant that they blew relatively easily. When you replace the original fuses with cold fuses, it will take more current to blow them.

Can a 20 amp fuse cause a fire?
This leads to heat, melted insulation and a possible fire. On a fused circuit, a dead short rarely causes a fire. However, pulling more current (amperes) on an overfused circuit (using a 20 ampere when a 15 ampere is required) sets up the conditions for a fire whether it is in a car or in a house.

How do you replace a blown fuse in a car?
If the fuse box is in a dark place, use a flashlight to locate the blown fuse. Remove the broken fuse and replace it. Using needle-nose pliers or some small tweezers, remove the broken fuse and in its place replace with a new fuse. Here is a quick video on how to replace the blown car fuse.
