What does power reduced due to SCR system fault mean?
SCR means Selective Cataylst Reduction. This is the system that injects DEF fluid in the exhaust to reduce emissions. Most causes are contaminated DEF fluid, if diesel or water was accidently mixed with Def, the system will pick this up and throw a fault code. You could have also got contaminated DEF anywhere.

Why do I need to replace my SCR system?
Could be a number of things… NOX sensors could be reading insufficient catalyst conversion efficiency – which could be as simple as replacing the air filter up to requiring the SCR to be replaced. DEF doser could need service, or some component of the DEF system (such as a heater hose) could be faulty.
Is the SCR engine going to derate soon?

Can you turn off the SCR on a 2012 granite?
I run 2012 granites off road these systems are pure JUNK!!! Delete the shat! OTR performance or have genesis tune in NJ reprogram the ECM to turn systems off! Yes cost 2000.00-3000.00 bucks but figure def fluid for year mine were at least 2 times week asking for parked regen at least 3.5hrs down time per week.
How often does a SCR system fault occur?
