What should the oil pressure be on a 2010 Silverado?
This topic is now archived and is closed to further replies. I have a 2010 Silverado 5.3L. At normal operating temp, the oil pressure is at 25-30 psi at idle. At crusing speed, 65mph (1500rpm) it is about 40 psi. Is this normal for the new truck, thought it might be higher?

When its started cold it reads 60, when its warmed up at cruising speeds of about 55-60mph it reads 40, but as soon as the RPMs drop when I coast, idle, or drive under about 10-15mph (warmed up) the pressure reads 20. Is this normal.. Sure doesnt seem right to me. Yep totally normal mine is the exact same readings using a synthetic 5w30 oil.

I have a 2010 5.3L silverado. It has the 6 speed tranny in it. Just curious, I notice the oil pressure when warm is around 30psi, when driving at high speeds it is around 40psi. And when I step it down, it goes at it highest to 50-60 psi.

As it warms up, it drops at idle to just under 40 psi and goes to just under50 psi at normal road speeds and RPMs..so a drop of about 10 psi when it is warm at normal operating temps on average is what I have noticed.
