Why does my Honda Element make a noise?
It just so happens that my 2004 Honda Element had a similar noise so I decided to investigate. Originally I had thought it was an issue with the rear lower control arm bushings or the upper strut mounts but after talking to my friend Scott Armstrong who also has an Element he convinced me to look at the rear stabilizer bushings.

What makes a clunking noise when going over 50?
I’m unable to hear it when going over 50+, at least rarely. I checked the shop if it was the exhaust system being too loose and it may have been, but they said it can not make that sound. I double checked the trunk by taking out the spare tires and checking the noise and it was still there.
