Why does my HP laptop make a high pitched noise?
The high pitched noise is coming from the CPU. It is known as the C4-state noise problem many laptops have. There are some message board that talk about disabling the c4 state in the BIOS but the option isn’t there on the specte 360x models. If HP would be so kindly to do a BIOS update with that feature I would be very happy camper!

Brought my 2002 Sunsetter 23foot xti to the mechanic to have it looked at because of a high pitched noise it is giving off. After looking at it for 20 minutes we pinpointed the area but he couldnt figure out what the noise was coming from.
