Why does the Check Engine light come on on my Toyota RAV4?
15 people found this helpful. Our 2007 6-cylinder RAV4 with 80k miles had the VSC, 4wd, & Check Engine lights all come on, and the engine was in a rough idle. After a few disconnecting the battery and reconnecting, the lights appeared. Another Forum said it may be due to a faulty spark plug coil.
Why does the VSC light come on on my 2011 RAV4?
On my 2011 RAV4 this is all due to a poor design of rubber tubing downstream (to the left) of the Mass Air Flow Sensor. This tubing is a “press fit” into the air manifold and twice it has worked its way out of the manifold. When it does, the 3 lights that come on are always VSC, Check Engine & 4WD.
