He says the crank and block are different and heavier duty in the DT530. All electronic engine, with fantastic computer aided diagnostics available at most dealers. Would not be afraid at all to purchase a piece of equipment powered by one. One serious issues is OVERHEATING, probably true of any modern highly stressed engine.
Why do I need to change the oil in my DT 530?
They use high pressure oil to pressurize the fuel in the injectors. Since the oil has this dual purpose, it needs to be changed on time. The most common problems I’ve encountered is issues with this high pressure oil system. The pump sometimes leaks, the oil pressure regulator can get flaky, and the pressure sensor occasionally quits.

Looked at a truck with a 300hp DT530 online the other day. Is it a Detroit or? nope. its exactally like it sounds. its the big brother truck version of the dt466. ive also seen the ht530. im not sure of the differences. but all of our pepsi trucks use the dt530. I believe they made a 570 also.
