Why are the brakes not connected on my 2015 GMC Truck?
The dealer tried other trucks – The 2014 did not show the error but all 2015 showed the same error. The third axle is outside their safety parameters according to the engineers at GMC. The truck shows this error repeatedly while traveling. They told us there is not a fix and they close our official complaint. 1 year later… 2 weeks later…
Why is my trailer brake controller not working?
Sounds to me the IBC is working as intended when the system does not see a trailer with electric brakes hooked up. Even the owners manual states this. If everything was working before rewiring and it is not working now, leads me to beleive it is a trailer wiring issue.
Is there a problem with the ITBC trailer brake controller?
1st things first, you must have a TRAILER CONNECTED’ message before ItBC will work. Also, no ABS light on the instrument panel. If either of these are problem, no trailer brakes. It the message you receive says SERVICE TRAILER BRAKE SYSTEM, the problem is in the truck, not the trailer, 95% or more certain.
What should the Ohm be on a trailer brake controller?
System is looking for specific range of resistance on the braking circuit of the trailer; if not detected, no trailer connected message. Some trucks more sensitive to this than others. Ohm meter between blue and white wires on trailer plug (5 & 7 oclock). Convey the reading here (should be between 1 & 2.3 ohm).
How to install a brake controller on a GMC Truck?
According to the dealer up the street if you have the panel and switch install it connect to the harness left behind the panel and have them flash the BCM i believe so your truck will recogonize it. It’s kinda like adding navigation/power folding signal mirrors/power locks,windows to trucks that never had them.

What’s the problem with my Silverado brake controller?
When i hooked the trailer up the controller showed up on the dic like i figured it would. BUT it doesnt show any output. I turned the gain all the way up and even used the johnny bar and still no output. ***** am i doing wrong or could the controller be messed up.
