Why does my power board retract when I open the door?

Why does my power board retract when I open the door?

Open the door and the running board goes halfway down and then retracts immediately. My powerboards do this when ever a small pebble or dried hardened road mud gets between the hinges. When mine start doing this a get out the hose and brush and clean them up and re-lube if needed and problem goes away. Did you figure it out?

What causes running board to not retract under truck?

As a result it fried my PRB module and caused the running board on the drivers side not to retract back up under the truck until about 30 seconds after the door was closed. This is assuming you have the Ford retractable running boards and not a different aftermarket manufacturer.

What are the symptoms of power running board problem?

Here’s the symptoms: Open door, running board comes down halfway. Close ford, running board goes back up. After reading other posts I tried everything suggested. No change so far. *Disconnected motor to allow running board to move freely. Nothing hung movement at all but I lubricated all points anyway.

Why is my running board not working on my Ford Expedition?

The passenger side also does not retract and is in the down position. It does not move AT ALL, despite really trying to move it up. The motor also does not sound at all when a door opens (and the dash settings are for auto) For you who have solved your running board problems, where do I start looking?

Why is the running board on my Silverado not working?

Have the same problem, passenger side running board randomly and frequently extends to the rear of the truck. Tried pulling the fuse (#74) under the hood but still no luck, wondering if anyone has found the solution to this. Did you pull the fuse and start the truck/few start cycles, before putting it back in?
