Why does the engine stay running with the key out?

Why does the engine stay running with the key out?

Switch key to the off position and pull out, radio and stuff stays on as normal until door opens then shuts off. Every once in a while the engine will stay running along with all the other RAP features. It’s not normal. Sounds like you have a faulty ignition switch. I’d get it looked at under warranty…since you have a 2013.

Why does my car not start when I turn the key?

This condition is usually due a failed fuel pump, a failed ignition coil, a failed ignition control module, a failed crank sensor, etc… that lets the engine crank (turn over) but does not let it start. A No Crank Condition means that the engine is not turning over when you turn the key to crank the engine.

What happens when you remove the key from the ignition?

Car Engine Doesn’t Turn Off When Removing Key or Pressing STOP It is a strange problem to have a car that won’t turn off when you remove the key from the ignition or press the Engine Stop button. Your engine will continue to run even when you remove the key from the ignition because the fuel pump is not shutting off.

Why does my GMC Sierra suddenly stop running?

Truck suddenly stops running, acting like it’s out of fuel. There is fuel in the gas tank and, I can hear the fuel pump when I turn the ignition on. Is there a fuse, or relay that is maybe causing this to happen?
