What fish can live with apistogramma?
Here are some of our favorite Apistogramma tank mates:
- Fish of the same species.
- Neon Tetras.
- Various Type Of Rasboras (the Galaxy Rasbora is our favorite)
- Pencilfish.
- Pygmy Corydoras.
- Otocinclus Catfish.
- Cardinal Tetras.
- Bristlenose Plecos (situational)
Can you mix apistogramma species?
You can mix Apisto’s in a larger habitat but with caution. Apistos only live in the lower water column so long and deep is a good tank for them. They also like to hide and will do so if stressed or not liking their environment.
Can you keep apistogramma with Rams?
Apistogramma Dwarf Cichlids They prefer slightly acidic to neutral water chemistry (pH 6.0-7.0) but don’t need especially soft conditions to breed in. They will be territorial and will occasionally chase intruders, especially other cichlids like Blue Rams.
Does apistogramma jump?
I’ve rarely had an apisto jump out of a tank, but it can happen. A layer of plants at the surface will do three things: prevent jumping; provide a sense of safety from predators; and cut down on the amount of light that reaches the lower sections of the tank.
Can Rams live with angelfish?
If you do plan to keep other fish in the tank with your angelfish, however, you are unlikely to encounter problems with livebearers or peaceful tetras. Even small cichlids like rams, Krib’s cichlids and keyholes can cohabitate peacefully with angelfish.
Does apistogramma eat shrimp?
They will eat them! There is no if and or buts about it. There is a saying if it can fit in its mouth it will. Shrimp are at the very bottom of the food chain.
What fish can go with corydoras?
Cory Catfish tank mates include most community tank fish as long as they are non-aggressive and friendly in nature. Otocinclus Catfish, Tetras, Swordtails and of course other Corys can be a good fit.
