D light is flashing because a fault has been detected with the transmission. The VTM-4 light is on because your all-wheel-drive is automaticlly disabled to prevent more damage to associated systems. 3rd and 4th clutch pressure switches were common problems on those (not warranty).

My VTM-4 light and check engine pop up, we change the fluid and the temperature sensor but now the VTM-4 turns on by self, making reductions of speed from 40 to 10 miles for hr anytime here and there. I turn the truck off and turning on again And goes away but and a day o two does the same thing.
