What to do if your navigation disc is damaged?

What does it mean when it says ” Please check your disc “?
Once you get this error where it says “Downloading Software” and then, “Please Check your Disc”, it’s not a good sign. It means that either the DVD Rom Navigation is failing, or you have a scratched disc.
How can I get my Acura navigation system to work?
If you have the original car’s VIN and the serial number of the DVD Rom Navi unit then you can retrieve it online through Honda / Acura. Without the Navi code (the 4 digit anti-theft code used to activate the navigation system) it won’t work.

It takes the disc and can hear it spinning for a minute and then it just shuts off and the same ‘Please check your disc’ message reappears.
