So I have a 2012 Duramax. The DEF fluid got low. It read 200 miles remaining. So I put more DEF fluid in. It held 1.5 gallons. Which is not enough to fill the tank on that. Still reads 200 miles remaining.

Yup just give it some time , my 13 after I fill my def takes a while to reset back to exhaust level: ok How long should it take to reset? Filled mine up yesterday and drove over 100 miles today and it’s still going down. Seems to me like sometimes it takes a few of start cycles/short trips. Make sure you shut it off when you add def.

So basically with a 7 gallon tank the truck will last about 3000 miles per def fill. Or two def tanks per oil change. At least that’s my truck. Not sure how much it “should” be using.

How much Def fluid do I need to Reset my DIC?
Exhaust fluid was showing 22%, I got 3 gallons of def from dealer and added it and percentage did not reset. I seem to have miss placed the diesel supplement of my manual so thought I’d ask you guys here.
