Is the AC warm when the truck is idling?

Why does my Silverado Sierra overheat when idling?

It’s temp gauge has always read at just before the 210 mark since new but the other day while at a drive thru it started climbing higher and the temperature here has been high 80s to mid 90s only. Could it be the water pump? The truck has about 95k miles on it. Not sure how long these factory pumps last.

Why does my AC keep blowing hot air?

Recently when running the AC, it will randomly begin blowing hot air instead of cold. No matter what I try, the only proven way to get cold air to blow again is to shut the engine off, wait around 5 seconds, then crank back up. After doing this everything seems to work fine for a week or so…then the AC starts blowing hot air again.

What happens when your a / C unit is idle?

When you are at idle, you are not producing as much pressure as when you are accelerating. So if your freon levels are low, then when you idle you very well may not get any cold air through the vent. As A/C runs like a giant circle of pressure, you need to make sure all the levels are sustained at all times.
