How do you clean the bottom of a radiator?
Refill the cooling system with tap water and the radiator cleaning chemicals from the flush kit, as directed on the box. The caustic chemicals in the flush kit will dissolve any remaining sludge in the bottom of your radiator. Run the engine for the time specified on the flush kit (normally 10 minutes). Drain the radiator. Remove the plug and cap.

I have recently noticed that I have a white/yellow mucous like sludge that is gathering on the roof of the clear coolant reservoir tank that is at the back of the engine. When I unscrew the cap I see can see this sludge.
