At first I thought it was the transmission, but I would downshift to either 4th or 5th, and the humming would stay consistent. The noise starts at 50 MPH and gets extremely loud when I’m between 70 and 80 MPH. Then as soon as I hit 80 MPH the noise has completely stopped.
